About this story
Pressganged by the brothers of the woman he loves, Andur wakes on a ship bound for lands he has never heard of. The ship does not make it. Washed up on a foreign shore and hailed as the saviour a prophecy promised, he would like it known that he is nobody's saviour — he would like to go home — and nobody is listening.
Castaway's Quest is the first book of Trivin's March: a feel-good epic fantasy on a continent of scheming kings, ambitious wizards, meddling gods and a complete, lived-in magic system, told with the wit of Douglas Adams and the warmth of Terry Pratchett's Discworld. It is light on its feet and unexpectedly moving — a story about duty, love and sacrifice that never forgets to be funny.
This is the complete novel, about fifteen hours, directed for a cast of thirty-nine. Andur, Larren, Trigemnon, Kari, Murrida and dozens more each have their own voice, the sound environment shifts with the setting, and the text is on screen as it is read. Your place is saved across devices, and the chapter list lets you jump anywhere. Rated 13+.

How this was made
This is a full-cast production, not a single narrator reading a book. Each character has its own voice, the lines are directed for pace and emotion, and the story plays inside a live sound environment — a low-lit tavern, glasses and murmured talk — that shifts as the scenes change. The voices are synthetic (high-quality text-to-speech, directed by people), and the words appear on screen as they are spoken, so you can read along or follow in a second language.
