About this story
A storm over the estate. A study with the door locked from inside. A rival executive walked across the lawn in the dark so that no car is seen in the drive. Grosvenor has something his old classmate's company, GenTech, must not hear about first — a discovery he values in the billions, possibly more — and he is offering Havelock half of it.
All Havelock has to do is look past the contract, past the law, and past the demonstration waiting by the hearth: a cat, a remote control, and a technology that can make any living thing exactly as obedient as its owner wants. The conversation that follows is polite, well-catered and increasingly hard to leave.
A Business Proposal is an original short by John Sunseri, about twenty-five minutes, directed for two voices inside a storm-and-firelight sound environment.
