About this story
A church after hours, mostly dark, the candles down to stubs. Father Sam has heard every kind of confession a small parish produces and expects nothing different when a stranger asks for the booth. The man calls himself Thomas. What he has to confess is not an affair or a theft but the shape of a whole life — one the priest has no category for.
As the account goes on, the boundary between the two sides of the screen stops holding. Father Sam's questions turn from ritual to real, the stranger's answers get more precise, and the story moves toward a final revelation that reframes everything said before it. It is a horror story told entirely in two voices and a whisper of echo, without a single raised hand.
