About this story
"Mirror, mirror on the wall, who is the fairest of them all?" For years the mirror has given the queen the answer she wants. The day it says Snow White instead, the princess is sent into the forest with a huntsman under orders — and the story of the seven dwarfs, the three disguises, and the reddest half of a poisoned apple begins.
This is a short, directed retelling of the Grimm version for young listeners, about three minutes long, with separate voices for Snow White, the queen, the mirror, the huntsman, the dwarfs and the old peddler woman the queen becomes. Children can tell who is speaking without a narrator saying so, and the three attempts on Snow White's life pass quickly enough to be thrilling rather than frightening.
